Dubu-Jorim (Spicy Braised Tofu)

Makes 4-8 servings depending on main/side dish

Tofu:

  • 1 package tofu
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for pan frying)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1-2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp korean hot pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup water

Slice and pan fry tofu until the outside is crispy, remove from pan onto paper toweled plate to absorb excess oil. Add onion, garlic , and most of the green onion, sautee over medium heat until golden. Add sauce liquid and reduce. Re-add tofu, stir for ~1 minute to incorporate.

Transfer to plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds and remaining green onion.
